Tips On How To Install Track Lights
Track lights are a unique type of lighting system. A sequential procedure is necessary to follow in order to install these kinds of lights with ease. Lights are a substitute for daylight. Hence, proper positioning of lights is important to carry out the daily activities of life, whether they are cooking, reading, writing, arts, or crafts. Another variety of light which is used mainly for decoration is called accent lighting. Accent lights attract attention upon first sight.
When talking about track lights, they are not used for just one purpose. There are unlimited ways in which track lights are used. Take for example lighting for your office. Track lights are the best office lighting. An individual has only to direct them to the location of work. By doing this, the entire room is illuminated, giving a fresh feeling to the work place. The installation of these lights is undoubtedly the easiest. You do not need to spend the extra buck on an electrician. The lights look great too.
The name track light is given to this type of lighting because of a track available for adding lights. This part makes this lighting highly adaptable. Hence, lights can be altered depending on the needs and the intensity of light required for a specific activity. The connector unit, as the name implies, connects the ceiling electrical unit to the track. An ideal option while installing track lights is to install them either on the ceiling or high up on the wall. This gives the user flexibility to direct light toward whichever location he needs light. Now, for the installation part of it, you need buy a tool kit. This should be readily available in your local hardware or department store. Again these tool kits come in different forms, depending on the type of installation required. Most of the tool kits contain lighting mounting brackets and covers, fixtures, a live end, and the most important part: a track. A few other things required are a standard or Phillip’s screw driver, a pair of long-nosed pliers, a ladder, a dimmer switch, a circuit tester, 1-1/2" flat head wood screws, an electric drill, and toggle bolts. But these are items that you might already have in your garage.
Caution should be taken before starting the installation. Switch off the power at the power box. Otherwise, you may suffer a serious injury. Then remove the old mounting brackets and install the new ones that came with your tool kit. As you know, different colored wires are present. You just need to find the right colors when fitting the new brackets with the old ones. Cover these wires with their respective caps, after the ends of the wires are properly twisting together. Secure the brackets with screws and bolt the tracks. These tracks will then be available for the placement of the lighting fixtures.
